iPhone and iPad may have suspended sales in Germany

On Friday (9), Apple lost a patent lawsuit against Motorola and could see sales of iPhones and iPads suspended in Germany - with possibility of extension for all of Europe. The decision by the Regional Court of Mannheim, is the result of a complaint for patent infringement against Motorola Mobility Cupertino company in April this year.

The accused devices from using the functionality are the iPad, 2 iPad, iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and probably also the iPhone 4S, released after the injunction.

The decision is still preliminary and Apple may appeal the ban to prevent the sale of their devices. Another option is the modification of iOS gadgets to remove the feature, which is associated to the standard General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) data transfer.
