Shortage hits 2TB HD iMacs

Em novembro de 2009, durante uma entrevista com o jornal inglês The Times, o produtor de Grand Theft Auto, Dan Houser discutiu seu trabalho, incluindo o futuro da série. Confirmando pela primeira vez que a equipe começou a pensar no Grand Theft Auto V, e que também declarou que pretendia escrever um enredo que no qual atingiu cerca de mil páginas. 
Em julho de 2010, a Rockstar North postou sete anúncios de emprego relacionados com um novo título. A empresa olhou para preencher posições, incluindo artista de ambiente, programadores físicos e animadores de caracteres.
